JJ Vianello

The Artist

Lovers of the warm sound of soul and swing, and anyone in love with a certain vintage sound featuring a unique and captivating passionate style will do well to take note of a rising star in the Italian and international music scene, JJ Vianello.

Gifted with a vocal and performance style able to encompass and reinterpret the best in Italian music, Vianello draws especially from the magical decade of the 1960s. His work is characterised by an all-hit repertoire predominantly performed live, bringing a seductive atmosphere to every show.

This all-round profile is the most likely reason behind the success of JJ Vianello, an artist boasting an already enviable performance track-record in top Italian clubs and venues.

One track that is up there among the best new offerings in the Italian music scene is his version of Domenico Modugno’s monster hit “Volare“, released with the participation of Maestro Alessandro Alessandroni, a notable collaborator of Maestro Ennio Morricone.

Vianello’s interpretation was selected from many competing versions as the soundtrack for the Azerbaijani acrobatic dance entry in the London 2012 Olympics.

The JJ Vianello phenomenon is unstoppable. Another piece to look out for is his “Verso Sud” (Southbound), featured on the soundtrack of the film “Una Cella in Due”, directed by Nicola Barnaba and starring Enzo Slavi, Maurizio Battista, Massimo Ceccherini, Simona Borioni and Serena Bonanno.

And who could forget to mention “Un Mare di Lacrime” ( A Sea of Tears), a true flashback to the golden Sixties, an irresistible and vivacious composition arranged with the collaboration of Maestro Lorenzo Piscopo.

Since 2012 he has been busy in the studio working on a new album alongside Maestro Lorenzo Sebastiani and in 2013 the first single was released, “Lucciole e Lampare” (Fireflies and Fishing Lamps), accompanied by a video directed by Lorenzo Bassano.

Thankfully for his many fans there are plenty of opportunities to catch his memorable live performances. Indeed, there are several upcoming concerts jam-packed with swing, soul, and timeless, romantic atmospheres that make for a truly memorable musical soiree.

On April 1st 2014 the much awaited album JJ Vianello was released. It’s a double CD album, of which one disc comprises studio tracks and the other live songs including most of his best successes and a few fantastic cover versions of legendary songs his tribute to the musical legends. Public and critical acclaim swiftly followed. The first radio single “Gira Gira” (Around and Around), an instant hit taken from the new album, was mixed in London’s BBK studios by Steven Orchard and produced by Tom Coyne of New York’s Sterling Sound. And this is just the beginning, although a fantastic beginning at that, of a tremendous success story that cannot be overlooked.

Music fans should savour every page of this story, or rather, every note.

The Band

FABIO NOBILE
Drums

Fabio Nobile started collaborating with soul singer Mario Biondi in 2007 and contributed to the release of award-winning album “If” in 2009. This led to his touring performance on the “Spazio Tempo Tour 2010″. He is a true pillar of Vianello’s band, a masterful musician with an enviable live experience to his name. His prestigious collaborations include studio and live work with Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Kelly Joyce, Califano, Mario Biondi, Renato Zero, Claudio Baglioni and Incognito. This goes to show that Fabio really is the perfect rhythm man for the most soulful vocals around.

In 1999 Max Freschi joined the cast of “Rent”, the very first Italian production of the musical produced by Luciano Pavarotti, wife Nicoletta Mantovani and Michele Centonze. He also worked on the CD release of the musical and took part in the release of the corresponding video, alongside the extraordinary voice and personality of Skunk Anansie’s Skin. He then took to touring the show with the “Movie Picture Orchestra” directed by Maestros Stefano Nanni (Luciano Pavarotti / Teatro La Scala) and Gian Marco Gualandi (Rai / Mediaset). At the same time he has continued his collaboration on high profile international projects, but there is more. He also provides musical support to the comedy genius of Zelig and works alongside Stefano Nosei, Marcello Pieri, Patrizia Deitos Band and MIAmANIA.
